**This position is for a project that is anticipated to begin in early Spring 2025**FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Reports To: Regional Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time, Regular
Compensation: $23 - $30 per hour, based on relevant experience; per diem, relocation allowance
This position is expected to work 8-10 hours per day, 6 days per week. This position is primarily a field-based position with minimal office time anticipated. Candidates applying for this position will be required to work in Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho.

JOB SUMMARY: The Biologist will monitor construction activities associated with electrical transmission and distribution line development projects in Idaho and Oregon. Principal duties will include monitoring of construction activities to ensure resource protection measures are being implemented to protect sensitive biological resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:
- Verifying sensitive biological sites and rare plant populations are properly flagged and avoided
- Conduct avian nest surveys and monitoring
- Conduct surveys of listed threatened and endangered
- Tracking and reporting construction activities
- Documentation of compliance/non-compliance with resource protection measures
- Communicate with construction personnel to identify and implement appropriate corrective actions as needed
- Completing daily monitoring reports
- Documenting site conditions with photos and GPS reference
- Providing training on provisions of the mitigation plan prior to and during construction
- Interacting professionally with other relevant parties
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright's and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownership
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in an environmental resource field (biology, wildlife biology, ecology, botany, or related field)
- Competence using global positioning system units, maps, iPads, and submeter accuracy devices
- Strong written and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products utilizing the latest operating system
- Clear communicator, highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, and dependable
- Ability to work long hours in potentially extreme weather conditions
- Ability to operate four-wheel drive vehicles on rough terrain
- Ability to perform work duties independently or as part of a team
- Ability and willingness to relocate to the project location
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience working in Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho
- Experience working with Washington Ground Squirrel
- Experience working with slick-spot peppergrass
- Experience working with sensitive avian species
- Experience working with State and/or Federal land management agencies
- Practical experience with electric transmission line construction
- Field experience and comfortability working on construction projects and around heavy equipment
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment
